Hello, I am Ana

I am a project manager. I am a parent. I am an expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.

A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Portugal wasn’t in the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new routines, and different expectations. Routine tasks seemed more challenging than expected.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of learning on the job. Yet, over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.

Why I Built River Mint Harbor

Most content online leaned toward corporate relocation guidance or surface tourism material. What was lacking was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to bridge that gap—practical guidance grounded in real life in Portugal.

What This Site Provides (And What It Doesn't)

This site is:

  • Real-life experience from living in Portugal
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever there is a genuine change

This site is not:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Forward

Our time in Portugal continues, along with the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Ana
